Under the Charger's Hood
The 2017 Charger has a variety of engine-transmission options. The SE and SXT trim levels get their power from a 3.6-liter V6 engine that puts out 292 hp and 260 pound-feet of torque. Fuel economy for this engine is 23 mpg combined city/highway for rear wheel drive and 21 mpg city/highway when the vehicle is equipped with all-wheel drive. Next up are the R/T and Daytona models. They use a 5.7-liter V8 that produces 370 hp and 395 lb-ft of torque. Estimate mileage is 19 mpg combined. The R/T Scat Pack and Charger 392 trim levels are set up with a 6.4-liter V8, and will give drivers 485 hp and 475 lb-ft of torque. Fuel economy for this engine is estimated at 18 mpg. Topping out the Charger's power is the Hellcat model. It uses a supercharged 6.2-liter V8. Expect to get a whopping 707 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque.
Design of Dodge Charger
The 2017 Charger is available in eight trim levels - SE, SXT, R/T, Daytona, R/T Scat Pack, Daytona 392, SRT 392 and SRT Hellcat. It comes standard as rear-wheel drive, but you can opt for all-wheel on the SE and SXT models. Even the base trim of the Charger comes with many standard features. These include 17-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry and ignition, a six-way power-adjustable driver seat, a 60/40-split folding backseat, a 5-inch Uconnect touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity, and much more. The front seat space is vast, and the rear seating area offers enough leg and headroom for an adult to sit comfortably.
