2017 Dodge Challenger at Lustine Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram for Woodbridge, VA

The Dodge Challenger is a key player in the realm of muscle cars. It's more capable than any other coupe, and to this day, it still holds true to its initial personality. Four engines, 13 trims and sub trims, and a wide array of packages make your Challenger as unique as you are. With horsepower reaching a mind-blowing total of 707 in the top-of-the-line Hellcat. The Challenger has some small changes for 2017, including an active exhaust for all 5.7-liter HEMI V8 models. The Uconnect touchscreen interface has also been upgraded for 2017; Challenger's are now equipped with the fourth generation Uconnect featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as optional navigation that offers pinch, tap, and swipe capabilities. For a menacing coupe, the 2017 Dodge Challenger is a great selection.

Under the Challenger's Hood

The powertrains are what make the Challengers stand out amongst the competition. You get your choice of four engines. The weakest engine in the lineup still sends most competitors running, boasting 305 horsepower and 268 lb-ft of torque-a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6. It can be found under the hood of the SXT and SXT Plus, and it can be paired with a rear-wheel- or all-wheel-drive system. AWD is unique to the Challenger; it's the only muscle car to offer it. In many of the trims, you'll find a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine, capable of between 372-375 horsepower and 400-410 lb-ft of torque. In upper-level trims, such as the SRT 392, you'll find a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 powered by SRT. This engine has an output rating of 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. The Hellcat has its own unique engine-a supercharged 6.2-liter SRT Hellcat V8. This engine is the crown jewel of the lineup, rated at 707 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. It makes the Hellcat the most powerful muscle car ever and can accelerate from zero to sixty in about 3.5 seconds.

Design of Dodge Challenger

The Dodge Challenger is a coupe with two doors and space for five passengers. There are five primary trim levels-SXT, R/T, R/T Scat Pack, SRT 392, and SRT Hellcat-and eight additional sub trims. For standard equipment, you'll be pleased with a power driver seat, keyless ignition and entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, 18-inch wheels, and heated mirrors. Technology features start with a Uconnect 5.0, a sound system with six speakers, and Bluetooth. The R/T adds foglights, an active sport exhaust, upgraded brakes, and 20-inch wheels. Each upgraded trim level adds its own unique features, but some highlights are LED illuminated badging on the steering wheel, an 18-speaker audio system, unreal Brembo brakes with incredible stopping abilities, and leather upholstery.
